some basic "concepts" to consider..
Form visual triangles, they eyes then to follow them..
Use odd number, which i guess helps in forming visual triangles?
there's more tutorials online, including how to add embellishments, glitters and other techniques!

technology makes people lazy!
Seen people riding the machines below around Changi Airport?
There's another similar product upcoming..
The prototype of a personal mobility machine is better and more compact..
Best part: hand-free control!
Don't it makes life easy but at the same time makes us lazy?!
These products are not something new, but if they become cheap and affordable to all, I think the future generations will become like those featured in Wall-E!

| Short and fat hands and legs (which loses their functionality. They can barely walk anymore!) |
With cars, lifts and others, we are already so lazy to exercise (avoid climbing the stairs, stop at the nearest places so that we will walk minimally). Wouldn't it be worst if we don't even need to walk around to get from place to place anymore?!
Scenario: travel on a personal mobility machine to the bus stop.. board the bus (handicap friendly buses so we don't have to get down from the machine).. reach the nearest bus stop from destination.. travel to reach destination.. continue to travel around with the machines..
How much calories are we burning then? Reduced calories burnt but food intake remain = weight gain!!
And as time goes by, we'll all be obese.. Very obese!

95% completion for C&T module!
Updates of "concurrently happening activities @ C&T class"I'd completed the door hanger and the embroidering of monogram on a towel!

Then for the monogram on the towel, managed to complete it with minor hiccups!

And for the table runner, it's almost done! Left about a 3cm opening that requires hand-stitching!

Done these after the scrap-booking session and was glad that I have completed them before my GESL class! =)

scrap-booking!
We did scrap-booking this afternoon!This will be a good post exam activity as it allows students to come up with something personalized and unique to them.
The steps are simple too,
Then, decorate with embellishments.
A note here will be that MORE ≠ BETTER..
The embellishments should not be all over the place and only one area should be heavily embellished.

concurrently happening activities @ C&T class!
C&T assignments updates! There's 3 more submission needed to complete!Firstly, the Table Runner!
The basic table runner is made up by sewing 3 pieces of fabric together (2 purple on the side, and the white with butterfly prints on the center).
Then, to add design to the table runner, tea cups (they're prints from another fabric) were selected. Double-sided interfacing is ironed on so that the tea cups can adhere to the table runner. To secure the tea cups on the table runner, I used the zig-zag stitch and machine stitch around the tea cups.
Then next step is to embroider monograms on it ("PARTY for 2!"). Have to hood the area where the monogram will be embroidered on, then select the font, re-size the monogram, and orientate it so that the monogram will be upright. The actual embroidering process is only THREE MINUTES! Fast and efficient way to beautify you fabrics! =)
Left the last step, which is to sew up the sides and the table runner is DONE!

For my hanger, I'd painted it baby pink. As my napkin has red roses, a subtle pink background can complement the red roses without stealing its focus.

Step 3: Select the designs on the napkins and cut them with care. Arrange them on the hanger. Apply art glue over the design very gently, starting from the centre of the design to minimise creases.

Last, but not least, Embroidery of monogram on the hand towel!
It's similar to embroidering on the table runner, except that due to the difference in material, the hooding is slightly different.
As the towel is made of piled fabric, instead of placing a interfacing underneath the fabric to reinforce the fabric, a plastic sheet is placed on the area to be embroidered. This helps to ensure that the stitches will not "sink" into the piled fabric so that the embroidery can be seen clearly.
The machine is working fine as it embroider the monogram until there's only 3 more alphabets left!
Have to unpick the half done word with 3 alphabets embroidered on before I can re-embroider the word!

cheerful yellow woven bag.. PART 2!
This is the completed woven bag with handle and inner lining..

After sewing the inner lining and the handles to the exterior of the bag, there's only one step left!
The last step is to hand stitch the inner lining with the exterior of the bag using SLIP STITCH.
The video video shows how slip stitch is done..
And after that, the woven bag is completed!

FNN microteaching group 6!
The food commodity: Pulses and Legumes
Menu: Lontong, Vadai, and Ang Ku Kueh
The mango mirror cake is an additional dish that we have to teach..
Absa and Shima taught how to make the sponge cake..
Laura and I taught how to make the frosting and the toppings..
Love the taste of the whipped cream made from the recipe i found online..
There's a strong vanilla taste that i think goes very well with the tangy mango!
The whipped cream tasted like the strawberry short cake from Four Leaves, which I like it a lot! =)

FNN microteaching group 5!
Presented by Justin, Irene, Nadira, Ain, & Siti!
1) Tempura prawns (which I can't eat due to allergy =S).. Laura made a nice garnish with cucumber!
2) Fish with coconut gravy
3) Sweet and Sour Flower Crab (the crabs are alive and I helped Siti killed like 7 of them! =X).. This is my favourite dish of the day! The sweet and sour sauce is tangy and the chili sauce and crab enhanced the taste! YUM! =)

and Egg Tarts (by Li Whey)..
Love the cream cheese tofu sauce most! There's a strong tofu taste initially, but after a while, the tofu taste is gone and all you taste is the rich cream cheese (with calories reduced as tofu reduces the amount of cream cheese used!)..
This is how we serve the dishes!
